Study at the Interinstitutional Postgraduate Program "Techno-Economic Systems"

The Interinstitutional Postgraduate Program (IPP) "Techno-Economic Systems" focuses on advancing scientific and technological research and generating new knowledge in the field of Techno-Economic Systems

Objectives of the Program:

The IPP "Techno-Economic Systems" aims to:

  • Provide specialization to graduates of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) holding Engineering Diplomas, as well as graduates from other higher education institutions (HEIs) in science and economics-related disciplines. The program provides expertise in modern interdisciplinary collaboration and research methods, preparing professionals to meet the growing demands of the public and private sectors, organizations, and enterprises both in Greece and internationally

  • Provide in-depth scientific training to equip researchers with the skills required for generating new knowledge.

Specialization Tracks:

The program offers two specialization tracks:

  1. Technology Management (Τ)

  2. Organization Management and Entrepreneurship (Δ)

Duration and Course Structure:

  • The program lasts two years

  • Attendance is mandatory, and classes are primarily held in the evening hours

  • Core courses take place from 18:00 – 21:00, while elective courses are scheduled between 17:00 – 19:00, 18:00 – 20:00, and 19:00 – 21:00

Graduation Requirements:

To earn the Master’s Degree in Engineering (MDE), students must:

  • Successfully complete 18 to 20 courses

  • Complete and successfully defend a Master’s Thesis

More specifically:

  • 12 core courses are mandatory for all students.

  • 6 to 8 elective courses must be completed, at least 4 of which must belong to the student’s chosen specialization (declared in the third semester).

  • At least 2 specialization courses must be taken during the fourth semester

The curriculum is structured so that:

  • The first two semesters focus solely on core courses, ensuring a solid foundation for more advanced subjects.

  • In the third semester, students begin attending elective courses from their specialization while completing the final two core courses

The total number of ECTS credits required for graduation is 120

Facilities & Teaching Staff:

  • Students have access to existing infrastructures and spaces at NTUA (Zografou Campus) and the University of Piraeus

  • Classes are primarily conducted at NTUA, but some may also be held at the University of Piraeus, depending on the needs of the program.

  • The faculty consists of professors from NTUA’s School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, other NTUA schools, and the Department of Industrial Management and Technology at the University of Piraeus, as well as faculty from other departments of the University of Piraeus and other Greek universities

  • Additional teaching staff categories may be included, in accordance with legislative provisions and the Internal Regulations of NTUA

This interdisciplinary and collaborative approach ensures that graduates acquire both technical expertise and managerial skills, preparing them for high-level careers in technology management, business, and research.
