The course explores the impact of the 4th Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) on energy and environmental systems and their evolution. The aim is to analyze methodologies and models that can support sustainability, competitiveness, and corporate social responsibility, in line with modern technological achievements, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain. Comprehensive frameworks for evaluatingcities and organizations are presented, regarding the effective integration of intelligence into their operations, in all dimensions of sustainable development. Specific applications of such systems at the level of cities and buildings are extensively analyzed, along with the results they have on specific economic, social, and environmental evaluation indicators.
Upon completion of the lectures and exercises, students will have knowledge and understanding of the impact of the 4th Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) on energy and environmental systems and their evolution. More specifically, students will be able to:
- Design and analyze methodologies and models based on new technologies to enhance sustainability, competitiveness, and corporate social responsibility,
- Evaluate cities and organizations in a comprehensive way regarding their intelligence and sustainable development,
- Apply economic, social, and environmental criteria for the evaluation of cities and buildings,
- Understand the operation of modern machine learning algorithms and their suitability in different types of applications.
