Electronic Transactions

The course covers the following thematic units: 

The first part delves into the forms of electronic business (Business-to-Consumer, Business-to-Business, Business-to-Bank) and new – innovative business models (e.g., economy 2.0, sharing economy). The Business Model Canvas is analyzed and used in case studies.

The second part presents the modern trends in Electronic Governance and the systems of electronic voting (e-voting), electronic participation (eParticipation), Policy Modeling and Gov2.0. 

The third part analyzes the Internet of Things (Internet of Things, Internet of Services), Cloud Computing, Cyber-Physical Systems and their exploitation by modern businesses. The concept of virtual organizations and factories (Virtual Organisations, Virtual Factories) and Industry 4.0 is also analyzed. 

The fourth part presents and analyzes open (open data), interconnected (linked data) and big data (Big Data) as well as the methods of exploiting them in making correct, valid and timely decisions in modern businesses and organizations. New technologies and applications (spread of social networks, smart phones, sensors, electronic markets, etc.) that lead to large volumes and different forms of data are presented. The technologies that are developed and exploited in this area (Map Reduce, Hadoop, NoSQL, etc.) are presented. 

The last part analyzes significant technical issues of electronic transactions and mainly issues of interoperability (XML, XSD, Data Modelling, Web Services and SOA, JSON, APIs), Privacy (Privacy), Security (Security) and Authentication (Authentication).
